Organic farming is the farming in which farmers use natural substances like green manure, blood and bone meal,
waste materials of plant and animals as a fertilizers and pesticides to meet the requirement of crops.
Benefits of Organic farming
There are lots of benefits of organic farming which are listed below:
1. High Nutritional Value:
In Organic farming all the crops are grown from natural substances, bio pesticides and bio fertilizers
like Rhizobium, Azopirillium, Azolla etc. which are free from chemical and harmful chemicals that harms our health
2. Eco- Friendly: Organic farming not only help crops to grow healthy but it also helps the nature from harmful
pollutions like air, water, soil.
3. Generate Employment : Organic farming is a labour intensive process which require lots of team-work, labours
which helps in generating employment for the people.
4. Good for health: As we know organic farming are free from chemicals and harmful fertilizers which are toxic to
humans but consuming organic fruits and vegetables boost our health and health related problems.
Types of Organic Farming:
There are two types of Organic farming:
1. Natural Organic Farming: In this farming blood meal and bone meal etc. products are use for the growth of plants
and crops.
2. Integrated Organic Farming: In integrated farming green manures, waste materials from plants, leaves, animals are used
in crops for their growth and development.
Demerits of Organic Farming:
1. Cost- Ineffective: Organic farmings requires lots of labour, natural fertilizers are costly which don't meet the demands
of crops.
2. Time Consuming: Although organic farmings have immense health benefits but natural things takes time to grows and
gives late results which can't meet the demands of day to day growing population like India. Because we know that
weeds grows faster than crops.
3. Demand Inefficient: India is now the highly populated country among other countries so its being very difficult to
meet and fill the stomach of every Indian.
4. Lack of Awareness: Organic farming yet not get the boost because of lack of self awareness among people.
Conclusion: Organic farmings have lots of health, nutritional benefits which not only help humans but also the other creatures
because it helps to reduce water pollution which helps fishes, water creatures to grow, soil pollutions which helps other
plants to grow healthy and most importantly it reduces the air pollution which helps us to inhale fresh air.
But to be practical, its difficult to bring in all the parts of country because of growing populations and lack of self awareness
but its not impossible.Government have brings lots of schemes which help farmers to boost their income and grow their crops healthy.
